Opis
Babia hora (1,725 m) is the highest peak of the Orava Beskydy range, straddling the Slovak-Polish border. According to legend, witches gathered here for their sabbaths ("babská šabat"), giving the mountain its name. The hike through rich montane forests opens onto spectacular views of the Orava reservoir, the peaks of the Tatras, and — on clear days — the Malá Fatra. It is a protected landscape area.
