Description
Ďumbier (2,043 m) is the highest peak of the Low Tatras (Nízke Tatry) and the second highest mountain range in Slovakia. A forested national park surrounds it. The summit plateau, reached via multiple approach routes from the Chopok ridge, offers a stark contrast to the rocky High Tatras — rolling tundra-like landscape covered with dwarf pine and wildflowers in summer.

Start from Boca (1,140 m) or combine with Chopok via ridge trail. National Park — no off-trail walking. Bears and wolves present — make noise. Lift at Jasná Ski Resort for Chopok. Summit in NAPANT national park zone.
