Pikes Peak is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, reaching 4,302 metres (14,115 ft). Known as "America's Mountain," it inspired Katharine Lee Bates to write "America the Beautiful" in 1893. It is one of the most visited summits in the United States — accessible by a toll road, a cog railway, and on foot via the Barr Trail from Manitou Springs. The summit visitor center opened in 2021.
