What to pack for the mountains
Keep your backpack light but safe. These items make a real difference on the trail.
Clothing and footwear
Start with the forecast. If wind or rain is possible, pack a light shell even if the morning is warm.
Use layers. A breathable base, a light mid-layer, and a shell give you flexibility as conditions change.
Food and water
Water and food keep you moving. For short trips 1 liter is fine, for longer ones 1.5-2 liters. Add easy snacks you can eat on the move.
Keep it light but safe. Pack only what you will use, especially items that help if weather turns.
Safety
Safety equals comfort. A headlamp and power bank take little space and help if the return is delayed.
